Commentary/review
What a treat for audiobook fans! It deserves the title of Audiobook of the Year (British Book Awards) – that it has indeed received. The Author and Narrator is an extremely good lector and a terrific writer. The book is quite revolutionary, if I understand correctly, although there was also the work Dr James Fallon (1947-2023) who destygmatised psychopaths in a somewhat similar manner.
It is basically a memoir, written by an interesting individual after a significant portion of a very interesting life. The fact that the Author is a sociopath with a PhD in psychology adds to the picture, of course, but the book is predominantly a good memoir. The Author has an uncanny talent to perform as a lector and an amazing ability to give impressions of other people in an entertaining manner. A born voice actress? Anyway, quite an extraordinary set of skills. An altogether great production.
The cover has great colour, sepia and neon green or similar. I certainly enjoy the yearbook vibe.
