Commentary/review
Perfect for a windy weekend read. Nothing but dwarves, very serious stuff. Simple and minimalistic, steeped in oral culture vibes (song, fable, lore and gossip), primeval yet post-apocalypic. Some First Nations inspirations. Strong sense of adventure. Grand sceneries. And the Author does not let you get attached to your favourite characters, despite this being a part of a saga. Really wonderful, prolific writing.
Peter Noble gives depth to anything he reads but I also suspect that he can pick and chose his titles. He obviously chose well here.

Shiny cover, gold gold gold and red fire. Warrior masks. Genuine high fantasy. One of the best covers I have seen.
