Commentary/review
I read this book as a philosophy essay. It contains three chapters (or “books”), titled “Run”, “Fight” and “Think”. It sounds like a result of good research, thoughtful selection, ruthless editing and heavy personal experience. Since it is narrated from a kind of a fringe, unclaimed space, it reminds of H. D. Thoreau. Yet it is not a testimony of a peace-loving hermit. We are listening to a man on the move, the hobo philosopher, the shaman with dust in his hand and with pain in his eyes. The narrative is mostly about history and the art of resilience but it feels like a story from the future. The book is short but whatever was unspoken has left us with the presence of timeless human dignity.

A refreshing, memorable read.
I love that the letters are escaping the frame, how smart and thoughtful. Altogether, a top product.
