Commentary/review

A gratifying, frank, complex memoir of a young, internationally acclaimed Pakistani activist. Malala Yousafzai is a Nobel Peace Prize winner who found herself facing rather extraordinary expectations at a very young age. The memoir is an account of how she succeeded in meeting every single one of them without losing integrity, courage and curiosity that put her on that path in the first place.

The book reminds the reader that making mistakes and having doubts is a natural part of life. If corrected early enough, most of them do not disqualify any individual from finding their place in the grander scheme of things.

I really liked the way the Author read her book. The style is genuine while remaining professional and balanced. Malala is a strong and a sufficiently sensitive narrator. I wish her continued success in the fight for girls’ education around the world.
