Commentary/review

The book completely changed how I think about AI, society and the modern era. Knowing what I know now, I think that not reading this book is a risky move. The autobiography explains what the www, the Semantic Web, our open, standardised protocols and guidelines, or even the concepts of usability and accessibility were supposed to do. It approximates how many talented people were involved in keeping the vision running. I never suspected that I could be one of them – the effects of scale are so vast.

The book is, obviously, read with gusto and showing genuinely appropriate emotional responses. The dynamics between Tim Berners-Lee and Stephen Fry are precious (interview is included at the end of the audiobook). Quality time.
